Master’s in Accounting from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers a Master of Accountancy, MAcc, program through the College of Business. The program provides students with an advanced understanding of the accounting field. Students learn how to explain and apply accounting theory and practice and create and implement solutions to complex accounting issues. They identify ethical and governance issues and solve these effectively in diverse situations. In general, the program takes about one year of full-time study to complete.
The MAcc program requires the completion of 30 credit hours. The advanced accounting courses include ethics for accountants and business executives, tax consulting, planning and research, integrative seminar in accounting, strategic cost management, advanced auditioning and assurance services, information systems in accounting, accounting theory, controllership, taxes and business strategy, forensic accounting, and directed individual research. Students who do not possess a previous business degree must take foundations in economics, statistical and decision analysis, and financial management concepts.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, TAMU-CC is a public institution of higher learning residing in Corpus Christi, Texas. It is a member of the Texas A&M System. It was established in 1947 as the University of Corpus Christi with a total of 312 students. It was originally affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The school became Corpus Christi State University in 1977 and joined the Texas A&M University System in 1989. It offered its first doctorate degree program in 1992. Work Study
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi participates in the Federal Work Study program that provides part-time jobs to students to help them pay for college-related costs. It is granted to students who show financial need and meet certain requirements. Jobs are available both on and off campus and typically start at minimum wage and have flexible hours. Students are typically paid every other week and can work up to 20 hours a week. Actual pay varies on job, duties, and student qualifications.
Graduates of the master’s in accounting program are prepared to pursue upper-level positions in the accounting field.
