This program is designed for current accountancy professionals seeking to advance their career opportunities. The curriculum combines experiential learning of auditing, budgeting, and taxation principles with business administration skills involving communication, presentation, collaboration and analysis. The result is a program that develops a graduate’s management expertise leading to supervisory or administrative positions within accounting. Coursework includes 42 credit hours combined from core MBA program requirements and concentration classes in accounting. Topics of study cover principles of: leadership, organizational behavior, management strategies, information technology, statistics, marketing, business economics, accounting, auditing, finance, financial law, ethics, taxation, cost accounting, and fraud management.

Master of Science in Accounting (MSA)

Candidates for the MSA may take coursework full- or part-time to complete the required 30 credits towards the degree. Graduates will be prepared to take the comprehensive CPA exam and advance their careers in managerial or corporate accounting, taxation, public accounting, and government at all levels. The curriculum covers: 15 credits of accounting courses, 12 elective courses in accounting, and a three credit capstone course. The emphasis for the capstone may be in one of three areas: advanced management accounting, auditing theory and applications, or Federal tax topics.
