According to the US Department of Labor and the Occupational Outlook Handbook, accountancy and financial management careers will grow faster than average through 2018. To keep up with the demand for accounting professionals, more and more students are seeking their master of accounting degree. Jobs are becoming more competitive, so more students are turning toward an advanced degree to improve their job prospects and earn their CPA designation.

This list highlights 25 great small colleges for students looking to continue their education with a master’s in accounting.

Methodology

The overall sample was pulled from College Navigator by selecting schools with an undergraduate student enrollment of less than 2,200 students and an acceptance rate under 70%. From that list, we developed the final list of 25 schools looking at crime rate, number of degrees awarded, and student-faculty ratio. The schools were ranked using the following points-based system. Where there are ties, the school with the lower graduate tuition rate was favored. All information in this list was gathered from College Navigator and school websites.
